My shoes

Like kids get happy getting new toy or woman on a diet get a cake, runners become happy getting new pair of shoes :)
Every pair of shoes has own story.

The GREAT BEGINNING:

My first pair of running shoes
Nike Air Max (even don't remember year of this model :)) I`ve bought them with one reason, be sportive and try to impress guys in the gym. I didn`t know anything about running. I`ve use them only in gym for some years, after I started to run they become trail shoes, because they were old and could kill them without feeling guilty :) As you can see they are not look very nice, but the mileage for them is not more than 300km.

Second pair of running shoes - bought for running
My running story I can begin only with this pair. It was the most expensive  gift for myself. After I tried to run some 2-3km, I`ve decided that I can run more, only things I need - new pair of shoes. Because shoes you wear to gym, you cannot wear for sports outside. With this GREAT Asics GEL Cumulus (I think so) babies I run more than 2 years. I really love them. From beginner (not more than 10 km per week) I grew up till upper-intermediate runner (15-20 km/week). With them I`ve run my first pace 5k, and I didn't finished it :)) I broke up after 3km. So sad I was so upset, but i didn't give up.

Third pair of running helpers
During all 2011 year I decides to run some races. Starting 4,7km till 6km. Not so long, but for me - beginner - it was damn hard. As one year ago I didn`t even finished race, at this time I bought Asics Gel Nymbus 9 for races - I got shoes, I got finished!
This grey-blue babies Asics helped me to get all the good things from 2011y races and with them I run my first halfmarathon in 06.04.2012!

The fourth pair was first fit my size ))
After I got blue nails, I`vve decided to buy shos that fit my size (+2 size) Adidas Response . And I bought this one for ~20eur :) I think it was very nice gift fot my feet, cause they traveled with me 1192km, include my first marathon in September 2012.

The fifth one was just for young crazy girls

For young and crazy girls Adidas Adistar Salvation 2 W...but real heavy one. Thats why they traveled only for 895km. After them I started to look not just on pronation, but also on weight.

The six pair was cross running shoes (from ice till mud)
You know, there are no better cheap trail shoes than Adidas trail kanadia. They are not heavy, they perfectly fit you foot, stay on foot without any problems, also when they became wet. You can run on ice, snow, forest, mud etc. They help you to feel safe on lots of surfaces. Maybe there are better and stronger trail shoes, but mostly they are expensive. This model costs about 40eur, and it helped me during 2 years. One thing that they are missing is Gore-Tex. So next one for me will be kanadia+gore tex.

My seventh pair was from fashion and marketing world - Reebok Runtone. Bought them for fun. Try to use for real running. They are very soft, very uncomfortable. These boots are not for running, not also for recovery running, they are just for fun. Your foot is very unstable, its very uncomfortable during long run (more than 15km). Also first kilometeres with them seems to me very long. Your are really tired. Reebok ads inform us that Runtone is for running and building muscles, not for training for real runners. After using them, I can tell you that those boots are not for young and sexy runners, not for weekend runners, they are for non-runners. Also I used them inside on treadmill...not so good.
If you want be fashion, if you want some interesting experience in running, you cam buy them ;)

NEXT LEVEL:
SAUCONY Hurricane 14 (tested for 953 km)
In most websites you can find rating for shoes: 4,5/5, 9/10, 9,3/10 etc. Yes, I bought these shoes when my old Asics Responce was used for ~1200km. First time I received Hurricane, I think why they are so light? Why so comfortable? I cannot believe that these are running shoes. For first running time I used for more than 15km, and I really love them. I`ve bought them in February for my marathon in march. You know its sounds very crazy, but it was good investment in my trainings. I cant tell that I`ve run more or faster, but training was easier and no hurts after long (>30km) runs. I love Hurricane, and I started to love Saucony, so I bought one more pair for fast runs - Guide 5.

Saucony Progrid Guide 5 (tested for 994 km)
Saucony left 5* fist impression with Hurricane 14, so I decided to buy one more pair from this producer. I found Guide 5 very interesting for me. As `i`m over-pronator, all shoes need to be stable and brings the stability during whole training time. Guide made this. They were light, colored, stable but I cannot use them for runs more than 10km. Once I used them for >30km, and my leg hurt. Hurt very much, during the whole week. So I used Guide for speed-work and fartleks, and for all competitions in 2013 for races under half-marathon distance
With Guide 5 I understand, that in market we have four type of shoes: racers (without stability, for elite runners), racers (with stability for over/under-pronators, for non-elite runners), shoes for training and long runs (for over/under-pronators) and shoes for training for weekend runners.

Nike ZOOM Structure 16+ (tested for 557 km till now)
Its time for some trail shoes. I didn't want some real trail shoes like Salomon or Fuji, I just want trainers with rubber sole, but they needs to be stable and light. I choose Zoom 16. First impression was bad (but internet reviews says opposite). I wear them for my training on road and forest (mix). On the road I felt that I was wearing Crocs, really plastic feeling, I did not like it. But in forest, they were very stable, comfortable. So I decided to use them only in trails runs and competitions, that`s why they look very dirty on this picture :)))

Adidas Response Stability 5 (tested for 768 km till now)
When both Saucony was near critical 900km I decided to look up for next shoes. As I remember my first good impression on Response, I bought them. I knew that they will be comfortable, but I was surprised that they also are light. My fourth marathon (as PM for 4:30) and both of year 2014 competitions I complete with these ones. From fours groups Ive mentioned about shoes, I think these ones belongs to long racing stability shoes. Adidas Response will always be for me wright for stability, comfort, price...but I need something more, something new.

Adidas Sequence 6  (tested for 575 km till now)
When I saw first time Seq6, I thought they will be racers shoes. I bought them (before Seq6 I looked at gt2000 and Kayano20). I wear them for first 10km. Looks pretty good and comfortable, but I feel they are not racers :( They, just like Resp.Stability 5, are for long runs. I try to complete some half-marathon races with them, but they are very heavy and have very hard sole. Like Nike Zoom16, Seq6 feels like plastic sole. Horrible! So now Im using them only inside on treadmill or for training in gym.

Merrell vibram "gloves" (tested for running ~30km, using as recovery boots)
Merrell I have received as gift, it wasn't planned pairs of running shoes. Im not really barefoot runner and Ive never think about barefoot running, but when I receive "gloves" I was very surprised and happy that I can try to be barefoot runner. They are great GTX, soft, light and comfortable. I took them for first run ~5km. I felt that its hard for me...hard to run without stability. I try to run with them one more, one more times (3-10km), and finally I decided that I will use them as race recovery boots. They really are comfortable, but I`m not barefoot runner.

After Adidas Seg6 and Stability5 will cross critical 1000km, I will choose next pair to discover.
For me are undiscovered running shoes from: Brooks, Puma, Salomon... I will think about next pair of little helpers.

To be continued with...
